Dust Extractor Fans

At Auto Extract Systems, we have a broad range of highly efficient industrial dust extraction fans for use in conjunction with local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems. We can specify and supply the exact product you require to get your system up and running.

Dust extraction fans can be supplied in various f sizes or electrical phases (single or three-phase) to provide the flow rate of air movement exactly where you need it. Our dust extract fans are designed to meet the requirements of all kinds of industrial applications, from filtration to extraction solutions. They are designed for industrial environments and can be installed either indoors or outdoors.

Our typical range of industrial centrifugal fans is suitable for airflows ranging from 200m³/h to 11,000m³/h, whilst our other range is ideal for airflows from 10,000m³/h, 17,500m³/h and 19,000m³/h. For airflows above this range, the dust extractor fan can be fabricated as per the specification of the system.

We have the knowledge, experience and ability to design a complete LEV solution for your exact requirements, from extraction arms to air filtration units, dust extraction fans, and fume extraction fans.

How Do Industrial Centrifugal Fans Work?

Industrial centrifugal fans work by pulling air into the fan's intake by spinning and deflecting the air at a right angle to the output. As the impeller rotates, the dust extractor fan forces air into the shaft and then makes it move perpendicularly to the opening of the casing. In turn, this allows the fan to produce more static pressure for the air volume, meaning it can move extracted air much further along a duct run.

The industrial dust extraction fan features the motor externally to the impeller, which is located inside the casing. This allows for a compact design as well as optimum cooling of the motor.

Benefits of Dust Extractor Fans

Benefits of Industrial Centrifugal Fans

One of the clear benefits of using a dust extractor fan is that it provides an optimal solution for improving health and safety. As we've already covered, dust fumes can be extremely harmful, so an extraction fan is an excellent way to enhance the quality of air that your employees inhale. There are many other benefits to using industrial dust extraction fans for LEV systems in addition to high-pressure air flows, including:

  • Improved workplace health and safety
  • Highly efficient pressure volumes
  • Cost-effective and low energy consumption / energy-saving
  • Low noise levels (Decibels (dB))

Manufactured to the Highest Standard

Each fan and blower is manufactured in accordance with the following directives and standards:

  • Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
  • EMC Directive 2014/30/EU
  • EN ISO 12100:2010
  • EN 60204-1
  • ErP2015

Energy-related Products - ErP

Energy-related Products - ErP
Energy-related Products - ErP

The aim of ErP 2015 (Energy-related Products) is to reduce CO2 emissions by 20%. ErP 2015 defines the lowest permitted efficiency for all fans with a power output from 125W to 500kW. Minimum efficiency relates to the whole system, including dust extraction fan, motor and, if relevant, transmission. ErP 2015 is valid from 01/01/2015 and is a requirement that must be met in order to use the product in the EU Member States. We wish to support the development of increased energy efficiency, sustainability, responsible manufacturing and recycling. All our products that are covered by the Directive 2009/125/EC either satisfy or exceed the requirements of ErP.

Why Buy a Dust Extractor Fan From Us?

We are experts with over 20 years of experience in the LEV industry. We've worked with thousands of small and large businesses across multiple industries to keep their environments free of dust. Our dust extraction fans have been manufactured to the highest standard per health and safety directives. They have been built to be energy efficient and guarantee low noise pollution. A dust extractor fan is cost-effective when purchased outright, and with low energy consumption, you will save money in the long run. At Auto Extract Systems, we follow all relevant regulations, including COSHH, and can work with you to offer a complete LEV Testing service.

What Industries Might Need a Dust Extraction Fan?

Ultimately, any industry that uses working processes which generate hazardous particulates like dust and debris may benefit from a dust extraction fan. The fans will help mitigate the risk of respiratory issues and prevent other concerns like flammable risks or equipment malfunctions. Some key industries where an LEV extractor fan is a common solution include:

  • Woodworking and Carpentry: Cutting, sanding and shaping wood can generate harmful sawdust.
  • Metalworking and Welding: Grinding, polishing, welding and cutting metals may generate dangerous dust and fumes.
  • Food Processing: Flour mills, sugar refineries, grain processing, and other food production environments generate fine dust particles.
  • Mining and Quarrying: Extracting minerals or coals can create hazardous dust.
  • Manufacturing: Several manufacturing processes often produce dust and other particulates that need extraction.
  • Pharmaceutical: Working with powders, chemicals and solvents can create various airborne hazards.

This isn't an exhaustive list. If you're unsure whether a dust extractor fan is the right product for your business, don't hesitate to contact our experts.

How Long Does an Industrial Dust Extractor Fan Last For?

The typical lifespan of an industrial dust extractor fan can vary depending on different factors, such as the brand you purchase from, what the fan is used for, how often maintenance is done, and environmental conditions. Industrial-quality fans should be designed to be durable so they can withstand heavy usage within industrial workplaces. An extractor fan should typically last for several years, anywhere from five to twenty years. It is, however, highly recommended that you conduct regular maintenance. Like any extraction product, fans must be cleaned, checked for wear and tear, lubricated, and more. These maintenance steps will prolong the fan's lifespan and prevent downtime and disruption to your business. If problems occur, replacing parts is far easier and cheaper than the entire system.

Complete LEV System

Industrial centrifugal fans are to be used in conjunction with a number of products, from our dust extraction or vehicle exhaust extraction range. At-source capture hoods will capture the contaminants in the LEV system and draw them towards the industrial centrifugal fan, and, depending on the working process, will expel particulates via a filtration unit or directly to the atmosphere via a high-velocity cowl, as per HSG258: Controlling Airborne Contaminants at Work: A Guide to Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV).
