Vertical Sliding Rails
Auto Extract System's vertical sliding rails local exhaust ventilation systems are designed for upward-facing exhaust stacks on emergency vehicles. A flexible rail is installed at a fixed height, typically above the bay area where guide springs allow the track to move left and right by up to 600mm.
Vertical sliding rails work by sliding up and down in a linear motion. The telescopic slides run down the full extension of the profiles slide and are ideal for emergency vehicles or commercial vehicles.
How Do Vertical Sliding Rails Work?
As a vehicle approaches the bay, the exhaust pipes are guided into the rail assembly to begin collecting the exhaust fumes. The trolley automatically follows the exhaust pipe by utilising a balancing block. The rail moves sideways and always automatically returns to its centre position. At approach, the vehicle is backed up to the trolley and the exhaust pipe is caught by the trolley’s trapping arms.
- The rail system allows for 1.5m possible side movement
- The effective length of the track between 4 and 10m
- Compression space for the hose is between 1 and 3m
- Connection dimension 160mm
Heavy-duty profile slides are manufactured in anodised aluminium, and come complete with a chain bracket and accompanying fitting brackets. Chain bracket for profile rail in yellow chromate steel, with a 1.5m long chain.
LEV System Fan Activation
As a truck/commercial vehicle or emergency vehicle is guided into the rail assembly, exhaust emissions are detected by pressure sensors that are mounted within the rail. This, in turn, activates the local exhaust ventilation system’s fan that’s controlled through an electrical panel for as long as it can detect vehicle exhaust fumes flowing, and subsequently, for 30 seconds afterwards.
Technical Specifications
- Trolleys - Manufactured in yellow chromate steel with 5 ball-bearing wheels.
- Profile rail and rail fixing - Made from anodised aluminium, with chain bracket and accompanying fitting brackets. Chain bracket for profile rail in yellow chromate steel. 1.5m chain.
- Balancing block - Balancing block in steel plate with bracket for rail.
- Ceiling hose - Heat-resistant, Hypalon coated polyester fabric. The coil is made from galvanised steel. Special, stable brackets are available for fitting the rail. Ceiling hose with ready-fitted trolleys. Adjustable fixings make for an easy installation.
