Articulating Boom Arms
Articulating boom arms allow articulation across a 16m working area and have a broad range of applications. Typically, boom swing arms are ideal for use in high-level buildings and those with crane tracks as they can cover a large area of a work bay yet are easily retracted when not in use. Articulated extraction arms provide an ideal solution for the military, plant and agricultural workshops.
An additional benefit of the boom exhaust arms is that they're capable of serving more than one workplace, whilst only being connected to a central local exhaust ventilation (LEV) system. Articulating boom arms are manufactured from high quality steel profiles and include smooth ball-bearing pivots and a disc brake to ensure easy positioning.
How Articulating Boom Arms Work?
Exhaust pipes are directly connected to a suitable exhaust nozzle to capture fumes produced at-source, before they're able to disperse into the broader working environment. Flexible hose and boom tubes connect the exhaust arms from the nozzle to the ducting which runs to the fan.
Sizes and Dimensions
These solutions come in variable lengths, which include 4,000mm, 6,500mm or 8,500mm and a choice of different hose diameters, these include125mm, 160mm, 200mm and; 250mm.
Technical Specifications
- Hose - As standard, a 170°C crush-resistant hose, made from rubberised fabric and features a spring steel coil completely that's embedded in an EPDM-coated reinforcement. Exhaust hose is non-flammable and suitable for the safe transportation of exhaust fumes. However, a an exhaust hose capable of high-temperatures can be specified, please see below.
- Balancing Block - Plastic coated coil spring with gear lock in powder coated sheet steel cover.
- Technical data balancing block - Wire length 4.2m and is capable of handling weights between 5-10kg
- Surface treatment - Powder-coated metal
Choose Your Exhaust Hose...
Articulating boom arms can be specified with various kinds of exhaust hose to track along the boom They can be specified to have a variety of different hose diameters, including 100mm, 125mm and 150mm.
They can be specified in a variety of sizes, even with high-temperature exhaust hose, rated in either 400°C, 600°C or 1100°C (for diesel regeneration processes).
Hose lengths come as standard with a 5m length of hose, however, longer hoses are available in 2.5m length intervals.

Vehicle exhaust hose reels can be supplemented with a variety of different rubber nozzles or metal nozzles, or even a Y-piece splitter nozzle for twin exhaust vehicles.
