Spring Balancer Track Systems

Auto Extract Systems sliding balancer track system is an ideal solution for emergency vehicles that features a length of a crush-resistant exhaust hose that is held by a spring balancer mechanism which runs along a length of steel extruded track. The hose is directly coupled to the exhaust pipe on the emergency vehicle via a suitably sized hose and grabber nozzle. This nozzle is secured to the exhaust via compressed air-fed from a compressor via the hose and nozzle assembly.

How Do Spring Balancer Track Systems Work?

As an emergency vehicle’s engine starts up, exhaust emissions are detected by pressure sensors that are mounted within the rail. This, in turn, activates the local exhaust ventilation system’s fan that’s controlled through an electrical panel for as long as it can detect vehicle exhaust fumes flowing, and subsequently, for 30 seconds afterwards.

As an emergency vehicle begins to drive through the bay, the hose and nozzle tracks along the rail until it reaches a predetermined position, where an air release switch automatically deflates the pneumatic grabber nozzle to release it from the vehicle.

Technical Specifications

  • Profile rail - Made from anodised aluminium with integrated guide rails. End stops with dampers made from yellow chromate steel
  • Trolley - Made from yellow chromate steel with 5 ball-bearing wheels
  • Balancing block - Balancing block in reinforced polyamide, inversely progressive with 4.5 m wire and bracket for trolley

The Right Exhaust Fume Extraction System For Your Needs

At Auto Extract Systems, we can find the right solution for your business to safely remove vehicle exhaust fumes, including carcinogenic diesel fumes from your vehicle maintenance workshop or garage. We only use the highest quality products and installations come complete with a 12-month installation warranty.

Spring balancer track systems should be utilised in conjunction with one of our centrifugal fans to vent the captured vehicle exhaust fumes directly to the atmosphere via a high-velocity cowl, as per HSG258: Controlling Airborne Contaminants at Work: A Guide to Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV).
