Full Description

Exhaust Extraction Hose

A crush-resistant vehicle exhaust hose is an essential kit in any motor vehicle repair workshop as it's used to transport toxic fumes (which contain carbon monoxide) from the vehicle's exhaust pipe through a fume extraction system to the atmosphere.

The car exhaust extraction hose is one of the best workshop dust extraction products, as it has been specifically designed to be extremely flexible and crack-resistant without losing pressure. The flexible exhaust hose is resistant to the chemicals and pollutants in diesel and petrol fumes and can withstand temperatures of up to 170oC, making them ideal for all vehicle maintenance workshops.

Exhaust Extraction Hoses Applications

The exhaust hose has a variety of applications, for example, car exhaust gases and heated gases suction hose. This makes the hose the ideal hose for exhaust extraction hose reels extraction units. It can be used as a diesel exhaust extraction pipe for fire station applications too.

A fume extraction hose can be supplied in 10m lengths or in 2.5m denominations to suit any available desired length. A flexible exhaust extraction hose is available in either 75mm, 100mm, 125mm or 150mm diameters.

What Materials Are Used in Extraction Hoses?

Exhaust extraction hoses are made of a wide range of materials. Typically, an all-purpose car exhaust extraction pipe features a rubberised polyamide spiral outer. Both sides of the extraction hose are coated with a black EPDM rubberised fabric, which is resistant to abrasions and weathering. It's essential that hoses are designed to be suitable for their purpose, which is to safely and efficiently extract toxic exhaust fumes and prevent them from contaminating the environment. For this reason, exhaust extraction hoses must be resistant to diesel and petrol fumes, and the chemicals that they contain. Hoses should also be flexible and crack resistant due to the automotive environments where they are used. If squashed by a vehicle, our extraction hoses regain their original shape immediately. A fume extraction hose can also withstand high temperatures as high as 170°C

Working Temperature

The exhaust fume extraction hose is suitable for temperatures between -40°C +170°C (-40°F +338°F).

The high-temperature exhaust hose is also available for large plant vehicles or regeneration processes where the temperature would exceed the capabilities of standard, 170oC exhaust hose temperature.

Our high temp fume extraction hoses can be supplied in a choice of three temperatures, including 400oC, 600oC or 1100oC. High temperature is available in variable diameters, including 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 160mm, 200mm, 250mm and 300mm and can be supplied in any length required.

Do I Need Attachments to Go With an Exhaust Extraction Hose?

As mentioned above, we offer a wide range of extraction hoses capable of capturing toxic contaminants such as exhaust fumes and preventing them from being released into the working environment. The hose is simply one crucial component of extracting vehicle exhaust fumes. There are other systems that you may need to safely and effectively use a fume extraction hose. For example, one such product that may be required is a nozzle. The nozzle helps to collect fumes at the exhaust pipe and ensure that the fumes are safely transported through the hose, making sure that the air is not contaminated.

There are a range of nozzles that you can buy, including metal nozzles, free-standing nozzles, vertical pipe nozzles, and y-piece nozzles. The type of nozzle you require will depend on various factors including your workplace and the type of vehicles that you work with. Free-standing nozzles, for example, are great for busy environments such as MOT bays where there is a regular turnover of different types of vehicles. This type of nozzle allows you to easily adjust the hose's height and tilt it back and forth. A hose clamp/clip is needed to securely seal the fume extraction hose and prevent contaminants from escaping during the extraction process.

We will work with you to develop a full solution to achieve all your exhaust extraction requirements. Whether you only need an exhaust hose or attachments as well, we will help you devise the perfect solution to keep your workplace free of fumes. Speak to our experts today to receive tailored advice about what products and systems you may need, and how we can help.

We Have the Solution for You

At Auto Extract Systems, we can find the right vehicle exhaust extraction system solution for your business to safely remove vehicle exhaust fumes, including carcinogenic diesel fumes from your vehicle maintenance workshop or garage.

Complete LEV System

170oC vehicle exhaust extraction hose should be utilised in conjunction with one of our LEV extraction solutions, such as Exhaust Hose Reels or Motorised Hose Reels and supplemented with a Dust and Fume Extraction Fan to vent the captured vehicle exhaust fumes directly to the atmosphere via a high-velocity cowl, as per HSG258: Controlling Airborne Contaminants at Work: A Guide to Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV). The flexible hose wind around the reel and are suspended on either the ceiling or the wall.
