Electrostatic Filter Units
Our electrostatic filter units (or also commonly known as electrostatic precipitators) are designed to remove a range of particles from the workplace such as oil mist and welding fumes. Typical efficiency rates for these types of filters are 95% and up.
Electrostatic filters work by first passing the contaminated air through a diffuser and pre-filter, the mists and fumes are then ionised to give them an electrostatic charge, this, in turn, attracts them to the collector plates trapping them in place.

Electrostatic filter units should be utilised in conjunction with one of our centrifugal fans to move the captured fumes and dust from the capture point to the filtration unit. The cleaned air can then be returned to the atmosphere via a high-velocity cowl, as per HSG258: Controlling Airborne Contaminants at Work: A Guide to Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV).
