Full Description

Dust Extraction Booths

Dust extraction booths (also commonly known as collection booths) protect the surrounding work areas and are specified when operators require access to all parts of large workpieces. Dust and fume extraction booths can be manufactured to your specific requirements, all are supplied with ductwork connection points at the rear.

Booths are incredibly versatile and can be used to collect a variety of different contaminants generated from a wide range of different processes.

How Do Dust Extraction Booths Work?

Dust extraction booths adopt a working station that features a three-sided enclosure to contain the contaminants escaping into the broader workplace. Contaminants are captured and pulled through a canopy located on the top, thus partially enclosing the work station. However, ductwork connection points can either be located at the rear or the top. In work areas where multiple booths are required, collection booths can be interconnected to one another.

They can be connected to a centralised, filtration system or wet or dry filtration unit, for example, a Wet Collector or Reverse Pulse Filter Unit depending on the materials that are being processed.

The Right Fume Extraction Solution for You

Auto Extract Systems are fully accustomed to designing, specifying and installing extraction collection booths to protect the surrounding work areas from contaminants generated in the working process, such as fumes and gases.

Extraction booths should be utilised in conjunction with one of our centrifugal fans to vent the captured fumes either directly to the atmosphere or depending on the working process, via a filtration unit. The cleaned air can then be returned to the atmosphere via a high-velocity cowl, as per HSG258: Controlling Airborne Contaminants at Work: A Guide to Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV).

What do the Professionals State?

The University of Birmingham describes the dust extraction booths whereby: "The process is not fully enclosed and the operator can access the workpiece and process, but the air is pulled into the enclosure to remove fumes and gases" (Local Exhaust Ventilation Systems, 2012).
